Music played a major part in my childhood. In our high school marching band; Sounds of Blackness, Earth Wind and Fire, Gonna Fly Now (theme from Rocky), uplifted both the crowds and ourselves.
I miss the days when wealthy families knew the value of pouring into young people exploring the arts. We must invest in our children and give them activities that help them to connect with one another, the arts, and themselves. We ought to expect more from those who have been given more.
Therefore, we must push political leaders to tax fairly…on behalf of and for the sake of, our children’s health and well-being. It is the duty of safe adults to see to it that safe spaces are created here on earth. If that means that there are fewer billionaires taking joy rides to space then ….
