Some elected lawmakers are making various excuses for not protecting girls’ sports.  At least one has stated ‘concern for verification of reproductive biology.’

“How would we do that?”šŸ‘€

More ridiculous excuses and fabrications to justify pushing girls aside to satisfy male wants and desires.

The Truth

As a parent who raised a child who participated in sports, I am familiar with this process.

In the United States, most schools and sports organizations require children to have a physical examination, often called a pre-participation physical evaluation (PPE), before they can participate in sports.

This is required to ensure that children are physically fit and healthy enough to engage in the physical demands of sports safely.

Even further, if your child has additional medical concerns, the doctor may order other tests, and/or make a referral to a specialist.

What Does a Sports Physical Include?

A sports physical typically includes:

  1. Medical History Review: Information about the childā€™s past illnesses, injuries, surgeries, or any family history of medical conditions like heart disease.
  2. Physical Examination: Measurements such as height, weight, blood pressure, and heart rate, as well as an evaluation of the child’s vision, flexibility, strength, and overall physical health.
  3. Heart and Lung Check: Listening to the heart and lungs to identify any abnormalities.
  4. Musculoskeletal Assessment: Examining joints, bones, and muscles for injuries or conditions that could be exacerbated by sports activities.
  5. Immunization Check: Ensuring the childā€™s vaccinations are up to date.
  6. Hernia Check: A hernia check involves the doctor examining the groin area to ensure there are no abnormal bulges or weaknesses in the abdominal wall where a hernia could occur. In boys, this may include checking the inguinal region (near the groin) and asking the child to cough while the doctor gently palpates the area.
And then there is the old reliable. A birth certificate.
Or a non-invasive cheek swab for DNA. Your sex is coded in your DNA.

Leadership Requires Honesty and Integrity

It is nearly impossible to create an equitable and safe world for ALL children if 50% of the children’s needs continue to be ignored.

We all have different beliefs.  That’s fine.
But being a leader of people with so many different values and beliefs requires integrity.

A Call for Support Issues that Impact Girls

Even with our varying beliefs, we ought to all be able to agree on some things. Among them is that girls deserve safety, fairness, protection, and equitable opportunities with their male counterparts.

You know, as I watched the “passion” of some of the democrats who were not in favor of strengthening the rights of women and girls in sports on the Congressional floor yesterday, I could not help but think back on some of my experiences with supporting moms and their little girls through the process of gathering evidence for child sexual abuse.

Brutal. Painful. Several layers deeper than sad.
Those poor babies.

No one ever demonstrates that level of passion for them.
Ditto for girls who are living through the emotional and physical brutality of female genital mutilation.

Remember that girls as young as 8 are getting their menstrual cycles. And, if there is a problem, those girls might undergo a pap smear.  Yet even though that exam was developed by a doctor who “practiced” on enslaved Black women, there haven’t been many changes to make it more comfortable for women and girls who have to endure it yearly.
Stop asking girls to sacrifice a little more to suit your comfort.

Everybody dances and kneels to the altar of boys and men.  Leaders who do this are not new or special. What the world needs now, is bold, courageous, leaders willing to take a stand for girls.

šŸ’—Girls deserve protection.
šŸ’—Girls deserve to have their needs prioritized.
šŸ’—Girls deserve to have their health and safety prioritized.
šŸ’œGirls matter.šŸ’œ

Houses Passes Bill to Protect Women’s Sports

The Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act of 2025 defines sex as biological, and prevents men and boys from playing in womenā€™s sports. It reads:

Section 901 of the Education Amendments of 1972 (20 U.S.C. 1681) is amended by adding at the end the following:

ā€œ(d) (1) It shall be a violation of subsection (a) for a recipient of Federal funds who operates, sponsors, or facilitates athletic programs or activities to permit a person whose sex is male to participate in an athletic program or activity that is designated for women or girls.

ā€œ(2) For purposes of this subsection, sex shall be recognized based solely on a person’s reproductive biology and genetics at birth.ā€.

The bill passed the House today with surprising bipartisan support, signaling a shift in support for women’s sex-based rights. Now we need to get it through the Senate, which has introduced its version of the bill – Senate Bill 9.

Tell your Senators to pass HR 28 / SB 9!

Stand up for girls! SHOW them that they matter.

FYI
H.R.734 – The Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act of 2023 does not require or allow for, “physical or genital inspections” for student-athletes of any age. Instead, determination will be based on the sex assigned at birth on the athletes birth certificate.
