A movement that uses children to validate the feelings of adults—
…but ignores children when they express discomfort, fear, or awareness—
has it completely backwards.
Children are not here to affirm adult egos, identities, or choices.
They are not tiny therapists.
They are not emotional trophies.
They are not blank slates waiting for us to assign meaning.
They are whole people.
When a child says:
🔸 “That makes me uncomfortable.”
🔸 “I don’t want to do that.”
🔸 “I don’t understand this.”
🔸 “I feel scared.”
—they are offering a sacred opportunity to respond with care, not correction.
Movements that center adult validation over child protection are not progressive.
They are regressive.
They repeat the same old cycle:
Silence the vulnerable to protect the powerful.
At RosasChildren, we believe:
✅ Children deserve to be heard the first time.
✅ Discomfort is not disobedience.
✅ Protection is not hate.
✅ Awareness is not a phase.
✅ Boundaries are not bad behavior.
Protecting children means listening to them—
especially when their truth disrupts adult comfort.
Anything less than that isn’t protection.
It’s performance.
