Sometimes childhood has seasons where there is a struggle to belong and feel valued. In those seasons, we safe adults must make certain that we are the ones telling children the truth.
They are amazing just as they are!
We might say:
I see you. I hear you. I know this world can make you question your worth, but let me tell you something: You were born enough.
You are already everything you need to be. When doubt creeps in, when the world tries to make you feel small, whisper these words to yourself and believe them deep in your bones.
1. I am worthy, just as I am.
There is nothing I need to prove, nothing I need to change to be valuable. I was born enough.
2. My voice matters.
What I think, feel, and say is important. I do not have to shrink to make others comfortable.
3. I deserve love, kindness, and respect.
No one has the right to treat me as less than I am. I deserve to be treated with care.
4. Mistakes do not define me.
I am learning and growing every day. I will not let one moment determine my worth.
5. My dreams are possible.
No matter where I come from or what I have been told, my dreams are valid, and I can achieve them.
6. I am strong, even when I feel weak.
Tears do not make me weak. Fear does not make me weak. I rise, even when it’s hard.
7. I do not have to be like anyone else to be amazing.
I am a one-of-a-kind masterpiece. My uniqueness is my power.
8. I am loved, even when I can’t see it.
Love surrounds me, even in the quiet moments. I am never truly alone.
9. I belong in this world.
I have a place here, and no one can take that away from me.
10. I am light, I am joy, I am enough.
Every day, I shine just by being me. Nothing and no one can dim my light.
Hold these close, dear one. Say them when you wake up, say them when you go to bed, and say them whenever the world tries to tell you otherwise. You are powerful, you are brilliant, and you are loved.
